Well Production Beta
Well Production is a beta Energy Intelligence dataset. Use this page to understand the current production data boundary before building against the endpoint family.
Beta Status
Do not treat Well Production as general-availability coverage yet. The production rollout is still in progress, and some API endpoints in the family may return errors or incomplete coverage while backend work completes. Contact support before using this data in a customer-facing workflow.
Current Production Coverage

State-level EIA aggregate data is not the same product as well-level production. Do not merge state aggregates into well-level workflows without labeling the source and granularity clearly.
Data Caveats
- Coverage is not national.
- Coverage depth differs by state and source.
- Historical completeness is not uniform.
- Fields and response shape may change before GA.
- Empty responses should be treated as "not covered or not loaded" unless support confirms otherwise.
Beta Integration Checklist
Before using Well Production data:
- Confirm your account has the required Energy Intelligence entitlement.
- Confirm the states and date ranges you need are loaded.
- Capture
source,period, andupdated_atmetadata with every record. - Display "beta coverage" in internal dashboards and analyst exports.
- Add graceful handling for empty results and temporary API errors.
